KSARDA Water Search Training!

KSARDA's seven qualified K9 teams have been actively training in water search this fall. KSARDA's K9 teams train for water search using the gas motor, trolling motor, and also rowing, so the dogs become accustomed to locating scent in all circumstances that may occur on a search. More photos added from our water search training on 10-31-04.

KSARDA uses Sigma Drowned Victim scent to train our teams in water search. Our Founder is also certified as a Dive Rescue Specialist I through the International Association of Dive Rescue Specialists. We use wind data supplied from the National Weather Service to assist us in determining the highest Area of Probability and to establish search patterns. The Army Corps of Engineers provides us with the out-flow rates to determine current velocity.
