Stacy Shaver & K9s Zoey & Gabe

Stacy became involved with KSARDA in the fall of 2002 and started training Zoey, her first SAR dog, for wilderness certification. Zoey is Stacy's 4th Border Collie. Stacy previously lived on a farm and a few of her earlier Border Collies were used for herding cattle on the ranch. Stacy is CPR/First Aid certified and is a trained Weather Spotter. She obtained her SARTech II certification in 2003 and her CERT certification in 2004. Stacy participated in her first search with Zoey in 2005. She got her 5th Border Collie Gabe in March 2004 and continues training Zoey and Gabe for SAR! Even though Stacy now lives in St. Louis, she remains an active member of KSARDA and deployed with her teammates to the Chapman, Kansas, tornado in June 2008.

Zoey is a Border Collie that was born on November 19, 2000. She has graduated from the Wichita Dog Training Club classes in Basic Obedience and Intermediate Agility. Zoey, in true Border Collie fashion, also has obtained her Herding Instinct Certificate from the Border Collie Society of America. While with KSARDA, Zoey has developed a strong play drive and Stacy notices Zoey is constantly using her nose in her everyday life now. Zoey has determined that SAR is her niche and goes crazy whining with anticipation when she realizes she will get to go searching. Zoey is KSARDA Wilderness Search certified and went on her first search in 2005. In June 2008, Zoey achieved NASAR K9 SARTECH I Area Search, K9 HRD Land III, and K9 Disaster Responder certification.

When I grow up, I wanna be a search & rescue dog, too!	Gabe has the right nose for the job!

Gabe is an active Border Collie who is a rough and tumble little boy and has proven to be a hard working, energetic, and sturdy SAR dog! Gabe learns quickly and shows a lot of enthusiasm and drive. Gabe joined Stacy's family in March 2004 when he was 3 months old. He is Stacy's 5th border collie.

It's going to be hard to keep this boy down! Gabe has his Canine Good Citizen credential and is KSARDA Wilderness Search certified. In June 2008, Zoey achieved NASAR K9 SARTECH I Area Search, K9 HRD Land III, and K9 Disaster Responder certification.
