Sherryl White & K9 Ruby

sherryl picture Sherryl began her SAR training with KSARDA in the early spring of 2003 with her Golden Retriever Ruby. She has many years of experience as a K9 handler and has received many titles on her dogs ranging from conformation, obedience, and TDI certification. She has been a member of the Wichita Dog Training Club many years and a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of Greater Wichita for many years as well. She is also a member of the Wheatland Golden Retriever Club. Her animal experience does not stop with dogs. She has volunteered at the Sedgwick County Zoo for several years. Sherryl is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and prior to her retirement in 2008 was a Nursing Supervisor at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital. Sherryl went on her first search with Ruby in July of 2005. She is a trained Weather Spotter and is a certified SARTECH II. Sherryl obtained her CERT certification and American Red Cross K9 First Aid Certification in 2004. Sherryl's love of SAR was evident in an article written about her in the Wichita Eagle and this love is shared by her family members. Her granddaughter dressed up as a "SAR dog" for Halloween in 2004, even wearing a shabrack (search vest), and Sherryl went as her "handler"!
