KSARDA members participated in the Emergency Prepardness Day at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson on September 15th 2009. K-9 teams provided demonstrations for the public and multiple public safety agencies.

On February 26, 2006, KSARDA was honored to be the guest speaker at the Boy Scouts Pack 450 Blue and Gold Banquet held at the Sedgwick County Extension Office. Sandi Stelz & K9 Skye and Jennifer Thill & K9 Jack presented the new KSARDA team video, and gave an overview of the work KSARDA provides to the surrounding community and the State of Kansas. After the banquet, those who attended were able to meet Skye and Jack and talk to Sandi and Jennifer about KSARDA. Everyone had a great time! Thanks to Pack 450 for inviting KSARDA to your Blue and Gold Banquet!

Lost ... But Found Safe & Sound

On March 28th, 2006, KSARDA presented their "Lost... But, Found Safe and Sound" program to the Heartland Church of Christ Sunday school class. Sandi & K9 Skye, and Jennifer & K9 Jack presented the program and the dogs got to meet the class afterwords. Below are some photos from the event.

KSARDA & Other Emergency Responders Honored

April 27, 2006- KSARDA was invited by Nikki Shoenthals of Sedgwick Plaza (a senior residence community) of Wichita to a Luncheon in appreciation for Emergency Personnel and the work they do for the community. Nikki was first introduced to our team in the past during an alzheimers informational meeting that KSARDA attended. Team members Stacy Shaver, Vicki Walton, Jennifer Thill, and Sandi & Lorrie Stelz represented the team during the Luncheon. The Wichita Police Department and Wichita Fire Department were also in attendance. KSARDA is very thankful for the gracious invitation by Nikki and Sedgwick Plaza!

KSARDA Teaches CERT Class

April 17 & 22, 2006- KSARDA joined with the Sedgwick County Emergency Management K9 Unit and the K9 Search & Rescue of Kansas teams to present information on Search and Rescue to CERT members in 2 separate meetings. The presentation was designed to give CERT members an idea of what K9 Search and Rescue teams capabilities are and what their function is on searches. The CERT members were informed of how they could assist these teams during disasters while the teams search for missing individuals. The topics focused on brief overviews of wilderness, disaster, water, trailing/tracking, and human remains searches. Sandi Stelz and Stacy Shaver represented KSARDA by presenting the Water Search information to the CERT members. Afterwords, the CERT members got to meet K9s Zoey and Skye, along with the other teams K9s. Thanks to Deann Konkel for heading up this meeting!
