August 2, 2005: Maize National Night Out
KSARDA was invited to attend the Maize National Night Out party by the Maize Police Department. This is the second time KSARDA was invited to meet with the citizens of Maize by Officer Lari Pierce. KSARDA members Sandi & K9 Skye and Heather & K9 Clover visited with the citizens about the team's history, training techniques, the PR materials, and about KSARDAs "Lost, But Found Safe and Sound" program that is designed for school-age children. Sedgwick County Sheriff Gary Steed and a few members of the Sedgwick County Fire Department also visited with the team members and dogs. The K9s were a hit with the children and the dogs enjoyed all of the attention. The team looks forward to additional Maize events. We extend our thanks to Officer Lari Pierce and the Maize Police Department. |
