February 2005: KSARDA was recognized both by Davis-Moore and KAKE TV Channel 10
for our volunteer work in Search and Rescue. KAKE featured KSARDA in the story "Ordinary People
Doing Extraordinary Things", and Davis-Moore and Dawson Grimsley presented KSARDA with a plaque,
along with a donation. We would like to thank Davis-Moore and KAKE for recognizing our team.

Davis-Moore and KAKE asked KSARDA to do 2 short search demos in the yard with
Solo working an air-scent search and Skye working a scent-specific/trailing search. Sandi spoke
on camera about the team's mission. Thanks to Matt and Alaine Kuestersteffen & K9s Foxy and
Kenzie, Joe Fehrenbacher & K9 Scout, Vicki Walton & K9 Solo, Sandi Stelz & K9 Sheena, and Lorrie
Stelz & K9 Skye for representing the team. Jemelle Holopirek of KAKE and Dawson Grimsley and Mickey
DeHook of Davis-Moore were on hand for the recognition for the "People on Our Side" feature, and thanks
to Mr. DeHook for being a great victim for Solo and Skye! Our thanks to Matt for taking the photos!

March 21, 2005:
KAKE TV Channel 10 and newscaster Jemelle Holopirek asked KSARDA to talk about our "Lost...But Found Safe and Sound" program that we give at schools. Sandi Stelz, Vicki Walton, and K9 Skye were on the 11:30 A.M. newscast and did a short interview about the program and KSARDA. They all did well during the interview and KSARDA is thankful for the invitation by KAKE and Jemelle! |
