

December 2009: KSARDA was called upon 12 times in 2009 by emergency agencies to assist with locating missing individuals, including searches in Atchison, Riley, Shawnee (3), Wilson, Sumner, Chase, Cowley, Johnson, Lyons, and Kearny Counties.

November 7, 2009: KSARDA was called out to assist Kearny County Sherriff's Office to check an area for human remains. KSARDA handlers and K-9s searched the designated area but did not find any sign of the missing individual.

October 17, 2009: KSARDA responded to a call out for a missing man with Alzheimers Disease in Emporia, Kansas. KSARDA immediately provided the Emporia Police Department with one search manager, two flankers, two K-9 handlers, and 3 K-9s, in addition to multiple standby teams. After an all-night search of the areas surrounding the man's house, a KSARDA K-9 Team located the man in fair condition in a wooded area.

2008: KSARDA assisted Emergency Agencies 9 times this year, including deploying seven K9 Teams with Flankers to the Chapman Tornado Disaster in June.

2007: KSARDA assisted Emergency Agencies 8 times in 2007, including deploying six K9 Teams with Flankers to the Greensburg Tornado Disaster. In addition, KSARDA's boats and personnel were summoned to assist in rescuing people stranded by floods in the Topeka area.

2006: KSARDA assisted Emergency Agencies in 7 searches in 2006.

KSARDA Receives 110th Call Out
Sept. 25, 2005: KSARDA responded to a call out for a missing person in northeast Kansas. Our team had 4 K9 Teams and 3 Flankers searching the area along with 3-4 K9 Teams from MOSAR (Missouri Search and Rescue). The assigned areas were searched by the teams, but the missing person was not located. |
KSARDA Receives 109th Call Out
KSARDA receives a callout for a missing individual who became lost in the woods after dark. Our team responded with 2 K9 Teams and 1 Flanker to the northeast Kansas search. |
KSARDA Receives 108th Call Out
August 20, 2005: KSARDA was called out to locate two missing children in Johnson County, Kansas. Thankfully, by the time the first KSARDA team arrived, the children had been located. |
KSARDA Responds to 107th Call Out
August 17, 2005: KSARDA was called out to locate a drowning victim in Shawnee County, Kansas. Three KSARDA K9 Teams responded working with emergency agencies already on site. |
KSARDA Responds to 106th Call Out
July 4, 2005: Today, KSARDA was called out to locate a drowning victim in southcentral Kansas. Thanks to the following K9 Teams for responding: Annette Gaston & K9 Greta; Sherryl White & K9 Ruby; Vicki Walton & K9 Solo; Sandi Stelz & K9 Sheena; and Stacy Shaver & K9 Zoey.
