KSARDA Trains with Andover Fire Department

November 2005: The Andover Fire Department invited KSARDA to instruct its personnel in working with K-9 Search Teams and various search techniques. KSARDA Director Annette Gaston conducted a classroom session and then those attending went to a local park to continue field training. Demonstrations were presented by KSARDA K-9 Teams Annette-Greta and Stacy-Zoey. Fire Department personnel were fascinated when K9s Greta and Zoey were able to locate a victim lost in the woods and completely covered with camouflage. After the demonstrations, Director Annette and Southern Region Deputy Director Stacy Shaver instructed those attending on grid search procedures. KSARDA and Andover Fire Department Personnel were given a search scenario and instructed to use proper search procedures to locate clues. At the conclusion of the session, KSARDA was invited to participate in future joint training with the Andover Fire Department!
